Our last day in Rio de Janeiro and our last day of the Dialogue! It has been a great experience with lots of learning about sustainable energy, Brazil, and ourselves. We have grown as a group in so many ways and I hope each student learned a lot from this wonderful experience. Thank you for everyone who made this experience possible!

We did a lot of sightseeing around Rio de Janeiro today! We saw the Christ the Redeemer, the Escadaria Selaron (Selaron Steps) and finally the sunset at Pao de Acucar. We had our farewell dinner at Carmelo Restaurant.

We arrived in Rio de Janeiro and enjoyed learning about the city with a boat ride to see the sites and visit the famous Copacobana beach!

We had a lecture at UNILA ( Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana )   and then visited the Buddist temple and Mosque in Foz do Iguacu

We visited the Itaipu Dam- the largest electricity producing Hydroeletric Dam in the world! It was an amazing engineering marvel to see!! We also visited the CIBIOGas center that researches other sustainable technologies to enhance the Itaipu green technologies initiative.

Today we visited the Parque das Aves (Bird Park) and then the Animal Reserve where they work on rebuilding the forest around the Itaipu Dam and ensuring the animal population has a home for the future.
