May 15 and 16

On Tuesday, May 15, we had Portuguese class in the morning, went to a organic food market for lunch and learned about the energy of fuels in our Sustainable Energy course in the afternoon.
On Wednesday, May 16, we learned about the basic of Thermodynaics in the morning and we went to visit a landfill that produces sustainable energy from Biogas from the decomposing trash.

May 12-13

We had an eventful weekend! Saturday we toured the neighborhood that we will call home for the next 2 weeks, Villa Madelena. We visited an outdoor market (feira) with South American antiques and Brazilian street food. We saw some amazing street art and visited the Museu do Futebol (Soccer Museum). Sunday we toured Avenida Paulista and had our first Sustainable Energy course!
